September 28 filing: Strategy bought 1,665 BTC

The disclosure for September 21–27, 2026 reports a bitcoin purchase financed by MSTR share sales, alongside STRC buybacks and preferred dividends.

The reported purchase

Strategy’s September 28, 2026 Form 8-K reports 1,665 BTC acquired for $142.7 million during September 21–27, at an average $85,681 per BTC, including fees. The purchase was funded with MSTR ATM proceeds.

At the end of the period, Strategy reported 847,666 BTC held at an aggregate purchase cost of $63.95 billion, or $75,437 per BTC on average. The company-reported total is retained even though adding rounded weekly quantities produces a small difference.

Financing and buybacks

The same period included $246.2 million of net MSTR ATM proceeds. The filing allocated $142.7 million to bitcoin and $103.5 million to STRC repurchases. Strategy repurchased 1,534,530 STRC shares for $151.7 million, also using $48.1 million of USD Cash. All figures are for September 21–27, 2026 and come from the same filing.

Cash balances

At September 27, the USD Reserve was $5.02 billion and USD Cash was $1.00 billion. The filing says $22.1 million of the USD Reserve funded preferred dividends during the period.
